Publishing Process ––
Editors act in consistence with a publishing process in line with the guidelines of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
Wound Management Forum is a peer-reviewed, interdisciplinary, medical quarterly journal that contains papers prepared at the invitation of the Editorial Board, original papers, introductory reports, case reports, review papers, letters to the editor, recommendations, editorial comments and notes, historical studies, memoires, book reviews, congress, conferences and conventions reports, comments on papers, announcements, summaries from international literature and other papers considered by the Editorial Board to be substantively valuable.
The original (reference) version of the journal is a paper form.
The journal has been granted 5 points of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (MNiSzW). Publication in the journal is free-of-charge.

- The articles should be prepared according to the rules established by Comittee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All atricles are published in Polish or English language, however in specific cases, Editor allows an possibility of publication in other language.
- The article should be written in the succinct, grammatically correct manner with the use of the correct nomenclature. Editorial corrections are established with Author only when issue concerns objective matter on the basis of merit; in any other case, corrections might be performed without Author’s agreement.
- Authors should confirm that the article or its parts haven’t been published before or it is not submitted elsewhere.
- The Editorial Office accepts only articles that are classified by Reviewers as comprehensive with the scope of the Journal and contributing a new values to the scientific progress with special acknowledgement to the clinical knowledge. The signatures of Authors on the title page of the article are equivalent with the announcement that:
- Article is common work of all Authors;
- Article was not published before and are not submitted elsewhere.
- The attached approval of chiefs of departments for the publication is unnecessary. The Editorial Office concedes that such agreement was established between Authors and chiefs of the departments. The authors obtain confirmation of article’s submission for review. Articles are reviewed by reviewers and, if it is necessary, by statistical consultant.
- The Editorial Office observes the rules of Helsinki Declaration and requires from Authors that all researches involving human subjects must be in compliance with the rules of Helsinki Declaration. In case of animal research, it is necessary to observe international principles and guidelines for the use of animals in research, testing and education, developed and published by New York Academy of Science, Commission on Animal Research. The approval of bioethical commission to conduct research on the human subjects or animals is also required and should be provided by the main author. The copy of approval should be attached to the submitted article.
- Editorial Office doesn’t allow a manipulation or changing patients’ data that might allow to identify the patient. Authors should protect patient’s privacy and publish only data that are essential for scientific purposes. Use of any information that may reveal personal data of patient (f.e. number of disease history, initials, photography of face, pictures of results containing personal data of patient, etc) is not allowed.
- Editorial Office observes all procedures securing originality of scientific papers. Submission of Authors Statement, together with manuscript, is a preliminary condition for further editorial processing of the article. Authors Statement should be signed by all Authors and send to the office in original version. If above mentioned conditions are not fulfilled, article is rejected from further editorial processing.
- It is essential for Editorial Office to publish only articles that contain clear declaration of transparency, information concerning potential conflict of interest and Statement of Authors containing clear and visible indication of specific Authors’ contribution to the process of article’s preparation. The purpose of these requirements is elimination of all types of scientific misconduct. These are ghost writing (a situation where a person contributes significantly to a publication and is not disclosed as one of the authors or named in the acknowledgments) or guest authorship – honorary authorship (a situation where an author’s contribution is insignificant or non-existent and he is still listed as co-author of a publication).
- The Editorial Office reserves a right to verify an originality of submitted article and to reject an article if binding rules are transgressed. The Editorial Office reserves a right to unmask such practices and to inform the Authors’ employers, all societies and other objects related to scientific activity of authors, that transgression had place, and to point the object and the scope of transgression.
- Acknowledgements for persons or institutions that had impact on article creation, should be indicated in footage at the end of the article. Besides acknowledgements, sources of material support – grants, donations and subventions – should be mentioned, as well as bioethical Instructions for Authors © Evereth Publishing, 2013 B5 commission approval for conduct of research, or trials on devices, drugs, etc, if necessary, should be presented there.
- Authors are required to disclose financial commitments, if any exist, between authors and company, that product is presented in the subjected article or the company competing with above mentioned company. The Editorial Office recognizes these data as confidential and underlines that they have no impact on the relevant evaluation of the article. The form of these data presentation is going to be established between Editorial Office and Authors before publication. If Editorial Office doesn’t secede from publication, data concerning sources of donations, will be placed at the end of the article, before references. The Journal’s regulation requires that Reviewers and employees of Editorial Office have written the official letter to the Leading Editor – that there are any relationship between them and external institutions. Such letter should reveal the potential agreements between commercial company related to the medical product that is described in the submitted article.
- The Editorial Office stays in compliance to the guidelines of Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts submitted to Biomedical Journals ICMJE and guidelines of Ministry of Science and Higher Education concerning methods of articles review. Given articles are submitted for initial evaluation (first look) to evaluate, whether articles are in scope of the Journal. If they are not, main Author of the article will be informed about this fact immediately, and review process is going to be stopped. When initial evaluation is done, detailed review is performed by two independent reviewers. They are required to be not from the same unit as Authors of article or the Editors Office. If article is submitted in the English language, at least one of the reviewers is required to be affiliated in the foreign institution in relation to the nationality of Authors of article. In case of two positive notes, article is accepted for publication. If reviews are discrepant, Main Editor calls 3rd reviewer. His opinion concerning value of the article is decisive. The Editorial Office strictly observes the rule of “double-blind review process”. Identity of authors are blinded to the reviewers and vice-versa.
- Review is required to be presented in the written form and contain unambiguous conclusion concerning refusal or acceptance of the article. The conclusive decision concerning qualification of article for publication is possible, only if Author corrects his work according to the guidelines proposed by Reviewers. In specific cases, The Editorial Office keeps the right to refuse publication, with giving no clarification of the decision.
- The Materials (printed or electronic), taken from sources protected by author laws and other related laws, should be sent to the Editorial Office together with the written approval of the owner (Author or Editor) of rights to reproduce given material. Source materials will be not published, if such approval is not delivered. The written approval of the main Author is also necessary to refer the articles in the process of printing. The Editorial Office requires also the written approval, if Author uses oral data or unpublished data obtained from the other person.
- If article is accepted for publication, Author is required to perform final correction of article. Authors are also obliged to sign the agreement concerning transfer of author rights as a condition of publication. Thereby, Author confirms that he transfers automatically all author rights for editing and propagating of sent materials on the all known fields of application on the Editor for free. Moreover, Author agrees that article is not going to be published (or translated) elsewhere, without earlier approval of recipient of the author rights – The Editor.
- Editorial Office, Scientific Board and Editor make all efforts to present only true and authentic data and opinions. But yet, it has to be underlined that not above mentioned subjects, but Author and marketing company are responsible for authenticity of the content of article or advertisement, respectively. Presented data, diagnostic decisions and treatment can’t be treated as a sole basis for clinical decision, but rather as an exemplary development of the specific clinical cases. The person responsible for clinical decisions should rely on own medical experience. Author and Editor are not responsible for these decisions. It is recommended that doses of the drugs, ways of use of medicinal products or devices, were performed accordingly with the producer’ indications contained on the leaflet and/or as it is recommended by the legal authorities of Reader’s state.
Instructions for Authors
- The article should be sent to the Editorial Office in three copies (including Tables, Figures and Photographs). Manuscript should be sent together with cover letter that contains Author’s full name and surname, address, telephone, telefax number and corresponding author’s e-mail. The cover letter should also include Authors’ approval of manuscript. Sending electronic version of accepted manuscript: Besides electronic copy, printed copy is also required. This is an Author’s duty to check, if these copies are identical.
- Text of the article, together with the tables (at the end of the article), should be prepared in one text file. Figures and photographs should be attached in the separate graphic files.
- Editorial Office do not impose any limitations on the volume and quantity of the text. The article should be sent in an editable file and should contain all factually justified information regarding its content.
- First side of manuscript should contain title, list of all authors (name, initials and surnames). Affiliation should include Department, University, City and Country. On the title page, data concerning share of Authors should be placed in the following order: – Preparation of the scientific project – Data mining and collection – Choice of research methods – Statistical analysis – Collection and interpretation of results – Preparation of the manuscript – Choice and preparation of reference – Fund-raising.
- Abstract should be comprehensive and reflects structure of manuscript. Also, no more than 6 (six) key words should be attached to the abstract, agreeable with MeSH (Medical Subject Heading) terminology, placed in the alphabetic order. Manuscript should contain title, abstract and key words also in English language.
- In case of original articles, the following structure of text is required: Introduction (background, state-of-art, aim of project), Material and Methods (with pointing statistical analysis), Results, Discussion, Conclusions (reflecting aim of the project, exactly based on the results obtained during research). For better readability and understanding of presented material, Editorial Office recommends use of Tables to present the obtained data. Latin Words should be written using italic font. In justified cases, help of statistician in data presentation might be recommended.

- The cited scientific bibliography must be ordered alphabetically and sequentially numbered. In the text, citations should be indicated by the reference number in square brackets.
- Tables should be not too commodious and excessive. Tables should be provided on the separate pages, enumerate using Arabic numerals and provided with short title in the headline. All Tables should be referred to in the text by number. Explanations, incl. explanations of the non-standard abbreviations should be placed in the footnote under the table. If presented data comes from non-published or different source, approval on publication and full source of reference is required.
- Figures should be numbered consecutively using Arabic numerals and referred to in the text by number. Figures should be provided in electronic version, each figure in separate file. Figures legend should be placed at the end of manuscript, under the tables.
