Streszczenie: Bakterie z rodzaju Lactobacillus kolonizują błony śluzowe jamy ustnej, przewód pokarmowy i układ moczowo-płciowy.

Abstact: Lactobacilli are found in the mucous membrane of the mouth, in the gastrointestinal tract and in the genitourinary tract. It is used as a probiotic to support immunity but for people with lowered immunity it could cause serious or fatal diseases. The most common disease quoting in publications is endocarditis. The studies showed that different Lactobacillus strains are resistant to various antibiotics and monotherapies are not effective. The Lactobacillus sp. resistance genes can be isolated from the food products.

Key words: antibiotic resistance, Lactobacillus sp., treatment
